Bio
My CORE BELIEFS are so important to me that they take up an entire page. Just follow the link.
I was born in Burnaby BC to a young married couple who were just starting out. When I was an infant, in place of a stroller, my Daddy would carry me in his arms. I hold that image close to my heart. I have reflected often that from the beginning my Heavenly Father has carried me every moment of my life.
I was blessed with a rich spiritual heritage. I experienced community and a love for fellowship through the congregation of the tiny church we attended. At an early age, I was keenly aware of God’s presence in my life. At the age of 5, I heard God’s voice.
With the godly example of Nana (my grandmother) set before me, I knew unequivocally that people were what mattered most to God. When I imagine God’s love, I see my grandmother’s face looking at me. With that look seared into my memory, I knew that whatever else I would do with my life, inspiring others to discover God’s love and be the best they can be, because of Him, was my life’s mission.
My Family:
Years later, I married my husband Kelly in that same small town church. Together we have three boys, Brandon (now married to Becky), Jadyn (now married to Cherise) and Taelyn.
Early in our marriage, Kelly worked away in a logging camp while I managed a career of my own and raised our first two boys. This gave me the unique experience of single parenting, while trying to nurture a long distance marriage relationship. Not an easy challenge, yet it provided many life lessons.
Fourteen years after our second son was born, God surprised us with the news of our third pregnancy. Our third son was born in 2002. My family provides me with much joy, a whole lot of laughs, and many illustrations for teaching purposes.
Career and Ministry:
I have an extensive background in the Financial Services Industry, training, coaching, managing and leading workshops.
For the past 10 years I have been in ministry. As director of a group of over 200 women at the largest church in Kelowna I taught biblical principles weekly. Now, as founder of For the Sake of Truth, teaching the Word of GOD is my full-time job. I teach at live events, through podcast teaching messages, blogs and online Bible studies.
My writing has been published in the Briercrest College devotional book for students. I also speak and write articles for Women Alive. My best friend Kim Parker and I are co-founders of For the Sake of ONE Ministries. Together, we have co-authored two bible studies, and most recently a book titled Radical Love – Forever Changed.
I regularly mentor young Christian women and women who are experiencing relationship issues. In my free time, I love to hike — especially with my sister and my daughters-in-law — read, and share a laugh over a good cup of coffee with my girlfriends.
Now it’s your turn. There are a number of ways you can connect with me. Leave a comment on my blog. I respond to all comments.
